FLW's Derby County Fan Pundit has picked out Patrick Agyemang as the one player who he expects to leave this summer.

Derby County head into the international break on a high, after they defeated a dispirited Birmingham City 1-0 at Pride Park, keeping John Eustace's side in the hunt for a play-off finish in the Championship with seven games to go.

Rhian Brewster scored the only goal of the game in the East Midlands on Saturday afternoon, as he headed home from Derry Murkin's spectacular cross just before half-time, although Blues goalkeeper James Beadle should have done much better to keep the ball out of the net.

The Rams were more than worth their victory, and perhaps should have had two or three more goals, with Sammie Szmodics and Patrick Agyemang also going close. However, they limited the visitors to very little going forward, with Chris Davies' side failing to register a single shot on target.

Derby return from the international break to face Coventry City at the CBS Arena, and they will need one of their key players to be on form to have a chance of the top six in the final weeks of the season. Yet, he may be on his way out of the club this summer.

Patrick Agyemang touted to leave Derby County this summer

Agyemang has been superb for the Rams in his first season in England, and while he is on a barren goalscoring run right now, his work in the lead up to attacks and off the ball effort is sensational, and he has been a real credit to his team.

However, when asked which player is likely to leave the club in the summer, Football League World's Derby Fan Pundit, Shaun Woodward, said: "I'd be very surprised if Patrick Agyemang doesn't leave Derby this summer. His stock has risen massively as the year's gone on. He's scored some great goals, he's looked a real handful, either off the left or playing through the middle.

"He occupies centre-backs, he's got a good bit of pace to him. He’s strong, can run with the ball and is a good finisher. He's still working on elements of his game. I think his hold-up play still needs to improve, and he can be a little bit inconsistent and infuriating at times, but when he's on it, there aren't many better players in the Championship."

Shaun continued: "We're lucky to have him, and I think nearly all the opposition fans have been saying this season, when he's been to their grounds, he's one of the best players they've seen play. So, I think there are a few clubs that are looking out for him and I don't think we're going to be able to stand in his way.

"I think if the right fee comes in for him, then I can see him leaving. He's got a big World Cup ahead of him and I can see him leaving for a decent fee. I wish him all the best, and hopefully we can use that money to rebuild the squad."

Patrick Agyemang is the subject of Premier League interest right now

Leeds United and Crystal Palace are both targeting the USA international currently. That's according to Football Insider, and the Premier League duo may well find themselves locked in a transfer battle in the summer if the forward has a strong World Cup campaign.

However, Derby have placed a £20m price tag on their number seven, and they will be extremely unwilling to allow Agyemang to leave unless they get a substantial fee for him.

He only joined the Rams ahead of the 2025/26 campaign, signing for £5.8m from MLS outfit Charlotte FC, and he looks incredibly likely to leave the club as their record sale after just a year.

Nevertheless, Eustace will be keen to keep Agyemang for at least another season as Derby attempt to close down the top six in the coming weeks.
