Bayern women strengthen their squad with Bernadette Amani. The Ivory Coast captain arrives from Spain and signs until 2029
The women of FC Bayern have struck again in the transfer market and secured the services of Bernadette Amani. The German double winners have signed the Ivorian international from CD Tenerife Femenino in the top Spanish division. The 28-year-old has signed a contract in Munich until the summer of 2029
Amani is regarded as an experienced and physically strong defensive midfielder who has played consistently at a high level in Spain in recent years. She has been active in the Primera División since 2019 and has also been one of her team’s absolute top performers this season. FC Bayern see the captain of the Ivory Coast national team as a targeted reinforcement for the center. Director of Women’s Football Bianca Rech praised Amani’s profile and personality in particular. She is an extremely strong and compact player who impresses with her speed, stability and confident passing. Rech also described the new signing as very open-minded, willing to learn and team-oriented – qualities that are particularly valued at FC Bayern
Amani herself was also enthusiastic about her move to Munich. The midfielder explained that she was delighted to be joining the top German club. For her, joining FC Bayern is a dream come true. In sporting terms, she is likely to play an important role for the Munich side and bring additional stability to the center with her international experience.
