Eintracht Frankfurt’s bid to sign Arnaud Kalimuendo on a permanent deal has grown complicated, with talks ongoing with Nottingham Forest after his impressive loan last season.

No agreement has been reached and Bild claims the forward has settled personal terms on a contract to 2031 while hoping to return, yet the situation is increasingly complex.

A significant factor is new Forest head coach Oliver Glasner, formerly of Eintracht, who admires the Frenchman and saw him score in a 2-0 friendly win over Notts County. According to the Nottingham Post, Glasner said every player will get a chance in pre-season, praised Kalimuendo’s performance and noted that, with the market heating up, his future is uncertain and for now he remains a Forest player.

Eintracht had a €27 million purchase option but chose not to activate it, instead aiming to negotiate a lower fee with Forest.

With Glasner assessing his squad and negotiations continuing, the coming weeks could determine whether a permanent move back to Frankfurt is possible.
