Elsa Landabaso, wife of Julen Guerrero, dies | OneFootball

Elsa Landabaso, wife of former Athletic and Spain midfielder Julen Guerrero, has died, leaving football in mourning. She was mother to Getafe B player Julen Jon.

According to as.com, the Biscay Football Federation, where Guerrero previously served as a director, plus Getafe, the RFEF and Athletic posted condolences on social media.

Guerrero coached Spain’s under-15, under-16 and under-17 teams between 2018 and 2023, and was on the under-21 staff at the Olympics.

He married in Derio 26 years ago, away from the spotlight, and the couple also have a daughter, Karla. He later became sporting director at CD Estepona.

The family has asked for respect and privacy at this difficult time. Landabaso had been battling a serious illness for some time.
