Vincenzo Italiano is expected to return to the Bologna dugout for Thursday evening’s Europa League tie against Brann following his recent stay in hospital, as the Rossoblu look to make it back-to-back wins in Europe.

Italiano has not been able to lead Bologna into any of their last four matches across all competitions after being hospitalised with pneumonia. He is expected to return to the dugout this evening.

The Rossoblu have won two and drawn two under the guidance of assistant Daniel Niccolini, including a 3-1 win away against Parma in Serie A over the weekend. They have won one, drawn one and lost one across their opening three matches in the Europa League this season.

Brann, meanwhile, sit in eighth place in the standings after picking up two wins from their first three matches in the Europa League this season.

Pre-match reports suggest that Bologna will look to Thijs Dallinga to lead the line this evening, with a supporting cast of attackers expected to feature Riccardo Orsolini and Jonathan Rowe, rather than Federico Bernardeschi or Nicolo Cambiaghi.

Kick-off is due at 20.00 GMT.
