The Rossoblu are starting to find form, as they are unbeaten since September 25 in all competition, when they narrowly lost away to Aston Villa.
There were a few too many stalemates, including 1-1 at home to Freiburg, but they got back on track with a 2-1 Europa League victory away to Steaua Bucharest, and Sunday’s 3-1 Serie A success at Parma.
Remo Freuler fractured his clavicle and is out of action along with Ciro Immobile, while Lorenzo De Silvestri, Ibrahim Sulemana and Benajmin Dominguez are ineligible for this tournament.
There is squad rotation with Santiago Castro, supported by Bernardeschi, Niccolo Cambiaghi and Fabbian.
Coach Vincenzo Italiano was released from hospital after a week of treatment for pneumonia, but it remains to be seen if he’ll be on the touchline tonight.
