Idrissa Gana Gueye
As expected, Idrissa Gana Gueye has extended his stay with Everton. The English club has just made the news official.
With his contract set to expire, Senegalese midfielder Idrissa Gana Gueye will not be leaving Everton. The former PSG player has signed a one-year extension with the Liverpool-based club, with an additional one-year option included in the deal.
"Everyone knows what Everton means to me and my family. After six seasons here, this club is more than just a football pitch—it's become a part of my identity. I'm proud to be starting my seventh year as a Blue. Last season was excellent for me personally, and I feel prepared, fresh, and more motivated than ever to keep pushing my limits. With our magnificent new stadium and genuine momentum within the club, this season marks a turning point—an opportunity to build something big and lasting. We have the foundation. Now it's up to us: the players, staff, coach, management, and above all, our supporters, to come together, raise the bar, and return Everton to where it belongs. I'm fully committed to this challenge. Let's start again. Together." said the player upon signing his new contract.
At 35, the defensive midfielder remains a key figure for the English side, where he has played since 2022 after leaving Paris Saint-Germain, following his stint there from 2016 to 2019. Last season, he featured in 40 matches and provided 3 assists.
