Idrissa Gana Gueye has signed a new one-year contract with Everton, extending his stay at Goodison Park after playing a vital role in the club’s Premier League campaign last season.

The deal, which includes an option for a further year, keeps the 35-year-old midfielder on Merseyside until at least the summer of 2026.

The 35-year-old midfielder was a key figure last season as Everton steered clear of relegation and finished 13th under David Moyes.

Gueye made 40 appearances in all competitions, chipped in with three assists, and helped anchor a defence that ended the season joint-fourth best for fewest goals conceded in the Premier League.

Gueye becomes the latest senior player to commit his future to the club, following new deals for club captain Seamus Coleman and defenders Michael Keane and Jarrad Branthwaite.
