Southampton have been linked with a deal to sign Tyrique George this January
Everton are targeting a loan move for Southampton transfer target Tyrique George from Chelsea.
According to The Athletic (12.23), the Toffees are keen on a deal for the 19-year-old in a bid to bolster David Moyes’ squad.
An injury to Jack Grealish has left the winger out for the remainder of the campaign, which has led to the Merseyside outfit turning towards the transfer market.
The Premier League side will be hoping to boost the team as they bid to qualify for European competition this season.
They have until 7pm on Monday evening to complete any remaining deals before the winter market shuts.

Everton are interested in a deal to sign George from Chelsea on loan for the remainder of the campaign.
It’s believed that the injury sustained by Grealish has prompted an interest in the player, but that Moyes has warned any deals at this moment are unlikely.
Southampton were previously linked with the teenager earlier this month following his lack of game time at Stamford Bridge.
George has made just four substitute appearances in the Premier League so far this season, and has yet to feature under new boss Liam Rosenior.
The 19-year-old was on the cusp of a permanent move away from the London outfit last summer when they agreed a deal with rivals Fulham worth a reported £22 million.
However, the move never came to fruition, leaving George as a fringe player in Enzo Maresca’s team prior to his sacking.
Southampton have just a few days remaining to get any possible deal for George over the line, and it remains to be seen whether he’d even be willing to take the step down to the side sitting 15th in the Championship table.
Next up for the Saints is a trip to face Stoke City on Saturday in a 12.30pm kick-off.

George should be seeking an exit from Chelsea in some form in the coming days, as it’s clear he’s far down the pecking order there.
At 19, it’s time that he starts playing more regularly so he can show he has the ability to back up the reputation he’s earned as a promising talent.
A move to Everton could be an enticing option if he can get a guarantee of regular game time, which will hurt Southampton’s pursuit.
With the window closing in a few days, it’s difficult to see the Saints getting this move over the line now.
