Former SuperSport United defender Lyema Dopolo has signed for Namibian outfit Ongos FC on a free transfer following his exit at Matsatsantsa.
The young stalwart joined the now-defunct Tshwane outfit in 2018 at the age of 15 after he was scouted from Kuilsriver.
Dopolo represented the South African U17 national team and went on to lift the COSAFA Cup with the team in 2020. He also featured in the Fulham Cup in 2018.
Moreover, the 21-year-old captained SuperSport to a Dstv Diski Challenge [DDC] title in 2023, prior to making his senior debut in the CAF Confederation Cup against Gaborone United.
Dopolo made five appearances in the Confed Cup, with then-head coach Gavin Hunt using the competition to gauge the youngsters' progress at the time.
Now, the Eastern Cape-born player is set for a new chapter in Namibia and has already made his Ongos debut against UNAM FC in the season opener last weekend.
