Exclusive drops fantastic news for Chelsea on worst injury fear of the season | OneFootball

Chelsea may have dodged a bullet on the Estevao Willian front, according to some recent reports from the Sun.

Lost in the days following Chelsea’s horrific loss to Brighton and the subsequent sacking of Liam Rosenior was some even more devastating news.

Teenage winger Estevao, one of the few bright spots in a horrific season for Chelsea, had limped off against Manchester United a few days before, clutching his hamstring. The update on the injury from his native Brazil was that it was a “grade four” tear.

Given most people only give grades up to three, this created the interesting question of whether this was a tear so bad it was on a new level, or if there had been some kind of mistranslation.

A shred of hope for Chelsea fans over Estevao injury

Luckily, given the latest update from the Sun on the topic, it seems it might be the latter. A source close to Estevao has told them they hope his “recovery will be fast.”

““We have little time, but his injury isn’t so complicated.”

At this point we’re not worried about him playing for us again this season, and we’re not even bothered if he misses the World Cup. We’re just worried about him having an injury so bad it affects his career and his peak physical capability.

It sounds like we might have got away with it – but we need a more detailed update from a proper source.
