Liam McDonald, the Kettering Town manager and former Hednesford Town, Rushall Olympic and Stourbridge boss, is under FA investigation over alleged betting breaches dating back to his Redditch United tenure more than a decade ago.
The FA confirmed an ongoing investigation into McDonald. Betting rules bar anyone involved at step four and above from wagering on football worldwide.
During his Redditch spell the club were in the Southern Premier Central, step three of the non-league pyramid. No charges have been issued and any next steps remain unclear.
He left Redditch in May 2016 for Hednesford, finishing fourth in the Northern Premier League, three points off top, before joining Solihull Moors after six months.
He left Solihull in October 2017 with the club 23rd after taking eight points from 14 matches, then returned to management with Rushall Olympic less than two weeks later.
McDonald enjoyed a six and a half year spell at Rushall, winning four Walsall Senior Cups, including three in succession, and back to back Staffordshire Senior Cups.
He took charge of hometown club Stourbridge in May 2024, leaving after 13 months following a ninth-place finish amid stadium and financial uncertainty.
This season he has guided Kettering into the Southern Premier Central play-off places, with a crucial home meeting against his former club Halesowen this weekend, one place below, set to shape the promotion race.
