Filipe Luís has remained a regular at Ninho do Urubu after leaving Flamengo, and watched the Under-12 World Cup semi-final on Saturday 28 as the club beat PSG (FRA). According to Coluna Do Fla, he keeps visiting despite no contract.
His 12-year-old son, Tiago, plays in the Flamengo academy, and he drives him to and from sessions at the training centre. Tiago was recently listed in the CBF’s Boletim Informativo Diário (BID).
Away from family routines, Filipe Luís has toured European clubs to study their training centres and speak with coaches. He has decided to seek a new job after the World Cup.
He is studying and assembling potential staff for his backroom team. He already holds CBF Academy A, B and PRO licences, and is targeting the UEFA Pro Licence to work in Europe.
In this period he declined Cruzeiro, who approached him after Tite’s dismissal, also in March. América and Monterrey of México also tried for the Flamengo idol, but he is prioritising a European club.
In his spare time he plays padel, the doubles racket sport popular in parts of Brazil, often alongside Rodrigo Caio, a former team-mate and coaching colleague at Flamengo.
