FC Red Bull Salzburg Women 2-0 LASK (H/T:0-0). Goals: Orkic (71' pen), Kobler (90+4')
Finale, wohoo! Our FC Red Bull Salzburg Women defeated LASK 2-0 at Liefering's Saalachspitz stadium to prolong their Austrian Women's Cup adventure to the final on May 13th or 14th. Their opponents will be determined later this afternoon.
In a wet and gray Liefering, the big match initially took a little while to get going. A stuttering start was disrupted by numerous set pieces, before the lively Greta Spinn began to pose some challenges for the visiting defenders – although her finishing lacked precision (25', 30'). While Svibkova was responsible for the visitors' only chance of the first half shortly afterwards, missing a promising cross, Valentina Illinger concluded the first 45 minutes with a shot that went wide.

The most noticeable protagonists of the first half, Svibkova and Spinn, each had a solo effort around the hour mark, but it was our captain herself who opened the scoring. After a foul in the penalty area, referee Hirtl pointed to the spot, Lucia Orkic stepped up and confidently sent goalkeeper Gavillet the wrong way (71')!
Only winger Banfi offered any resistance for the visitors, forcing goalkeeper Michaela Fischer into her only save. Instead of a late surge from the visitors, our win was sealed: Emelie Kobler was left unmarked after a corner and hammered the ball into the top of the net (90+4) – sending us to the final!

It's simply an incredibly cool feeling to win such a tough game – and even more so when it's a semi-final! We didn't play our best in the first half, we were a bit nervous at times. We came out stronger in the second half, were able to bring our strengths to the pitch, and were also more courageous. Katja Wienerroither's substitution was a game-changer. Her presence and experience helped the others get into the game even more – and then it was just a matter of time. All in all, it's extremely well-deserved, well done to the girls!
