With 14 departures and five arrivals, Walsall have work to do this summer. Here are five free agents the Saddlers could consider.

According to ExpressAndStar.com, Lee Grant said the club still have some way to go. With Jenson Kilroy the only senior keeper after Sam Hornby joined Hednesford Town, a free-agent return for Myles Roberts, released by Watford after his loan, could appeal. He made 43 League Two appearances and kept 13 clean sheets in 46 games last term.

Tom Bradshaw hit 40 goals in two seasons for Walsall from 2014 to 2016, then spent years with Barnsley and Millwall. He rejoined Barnsley on loan from Oxford United in the second half of last season, scoring three times. At 33, a return would be a gamble.

Midfielder Evan Khouri, 23, rejected a new deal at Grimsby Town and is unattached. He scored four and set up two in 42 games last season. With Lewis Simper, Sven Sprangler and loanee Isaac Moore already in, midfield may not be the priority.

Defender Will Wright left Swindon Town this summer after two seasons and is a free agent. The 29-year-old helped Crawley Town win promotion to League One and was Swindon’s 2024-25 player of the season. He delivered 10 goals and eight assists in 95 outings.

Omari Patrick ended 2024-25 with 19 direct goal involvements, 13 goals and six assists, and has scored in three of his nine meetings with Walsall. With wide options yet to be bolstered, he could add end product.
