Flamengo have set a special programme for the first team ahead of their 2026 debut, including two days of double sessions.
According to Coluna Do Fla, Filipe Luís will lead morning and afternoon work on Monday 19 and Wednesday 21 at Ninho do Urubu, despite a ‘critical’ Carioca start for the winless U-20.
The squad had Sunday 18 off and return on Monday 19 to resume pre-season. Single sessions are scheduled for Tuesday 20 at 16:30, Thursday 22 at 16:30, Friday 23 at 9:00 and Saturday 24 at 9:00. A rest day is likely on Sunday 25.
After the demands of 2025 and the holiday break, most senior players are not yet ready to take the field, so Flamengo have kept the initial plan to field the U-20 under Bruno Pivetti.
The first team’s 2026 debut should be on 28 January, when Flamengo face São Paulo in the Brasileirão opener at Morumbis, 21:30 Brasília time.
In the meantime, the U-20 meet Vasco on Wednesday 21 and Fluminense on Sunday 25 in the Carioca, with the Vasco match at 21:30 at the Maracanã.
