Sunderland’s first season back in the Premier League has been shaped by Florent Ghisolfi’s work across two transfer windows, with two 10s and one 3 among 17 signings rated. According to Sunderland Echo, Kristjaan Speakman’s exit last month underlined Ghisolfi’s central role as safety is virtually assured and summer planning gathers pace.

Granit Xhaka earned 10/10, hailed for leadership and top-level control, while Robin Roefs also scored 10/10 after a breakout campaign in goal. Nordi Mukiele and Noah Sadiki were both outstanding at 9.5/10, the former a defensive leader, the latter driving early-season form.

Omar Alderete impressed at 9/10, Brian Brobbey the same after hitting stride, with Reinildo strong at 8/10. Chemsdine Talbi and Lutsharel Geertruida posted 7.5/10, the latter’s option to buy still a decision for the summer.

Habib Diarra showed clear promise despite injury and AFCON, 7/10. Bertrand Traoré made an immediate impact before AFCON and injury, 7/10, while Simon Adingra and Marc Guiu were limited to flashes at 5/10. Arthur Masuaku’s minutes were sparse and his fit uncertain, 3/10.

Melker Ellborg looks a canny project at 7.5/10, Nilson Angulo has started brightly at 7/10, and Jocelin Ta Bi remains ungraded after early injury. Ghisolfi blended pre-promotion targets with experience after arriving in June, building a team that can compete now and appreciate in value. The next step is to add more young talent without compromising the defensive solidity that has underpinned this season, as his revamped recruitment structure begins to shape strategy.
