Forest defender Cuiabano returns to Brazil

Nottingham Forest defender Cuiabano has completed another loan move in Brazil, joining Vasco da Gama for the remainder of the season with an option to buy.

The 22-year-old left-back, who is under contract with Forest but has yet to make a senior appearance for the club, arrived in Rio de Janeiro on Thursday to undergo medical checks and finalise the deal.

Vasco confirmed the agreement later in the day, unveiling Cuiabano with a tongue-in-cheek announcement video referencing quotes that became memes during his time at Botafogo.

Cuiabano spent the 2025 season on loan at Botafogo, a club with close ownership links to Nottingham Forest, and now remains in Brazilian football for another year as Forest continue to manage his development away from the City Ground.
