Nottingham Forest have made a quiet start to the window, with Oliver Glasner beginning work at the Nigel Doughty Academy on Monday and no signings yet.
Midfield is the priority after Elliot Anderson joined Manchester City. The Athletic states Curtis Jones, also wanted by Inter Milan, is not high on Forest’s shortlist.
"I will have the chance to speak with him today (Monday). I rate Curtis very highly. For me he is a great, great player and I hope he can continue with us and continue performing the way he has been performing." He was speaking to the Liverpool Echo.
In Spain, El Desmarque reports Forest interest in Sevilla left-back Joaquin Oso has re-emerged, with contacts made with the club and the player. Sevilla prefer a permanent sale and have set a €15 million price, with a year left on his deal, while Fiorentina are also linked.
Talks over a new contract for Neco Williams are ongoing. TEAMtalk suggests Manchester United and Newcastle United have expressed interest, with Tottenham monitoring, and claims a move to Old Trafford would particularly appeal. The report adds there have been no formal approaches and Forest have made clear they do not intend to sell.
