Nottingham Forest’s summer focus has sharpened with the 2026/27 fixtures confirmed, Leeds United visiting on August 22 as Vitor Pereira targets Europe.
According to Nottingham Post, the window is days old, tweaks rather than an overhaul are expected, and business must be wrapped up by 11pm on September 1.
Speculation is rising that Manchester City are closing in on Elliot Anderson, and the England international’s exit is increasingly seen as likely. Timing and price remain key, with Forest hopeful of around £130 million and mindful any World Cup lift could aid their stance.
If he goes, a replacement may be needed, with Inter Milan’s Davide Frattesi and Celtic’s Arne Engels among those linked after January interest. Preparations are in place, but picking the right profile still matters.
Goalkeeper planning is live. Sels has been linked with a return to Belgium and early clarity would help, Ortega has left on a free and John could move if restructuring follows. With Sels and John the only senior options, their futures will shape recruitment.
Forest also plan exits to create space, with Nicolo Savona attracting Italian interest, and calls due on returnees. Frankfurt want to keep Arnaud Kalimuendo, while Omar Richards, David Carmo, Tyler Bindon and Jota Silva will be assessed in pre-season. Bindon, 21, may head out again, and contract work continues after Murillo’s renewal, with Neco Williams, Ibrahim Sangare and Nicolas Dominguez candidates for improved terms. Pereira’s talks are paused until later in the year.
