Manchester United have had an unfortunate spell of seeing players leave the club and succeed elsewhere of late.

United’s struggles have only been worsened by the fact that many so called ‘flops’ at the club have gone to other sides and shone.

Here are how their most high-profile recent departures have got on since leaving…

Rasmus Hojlund

The Danish striker endured a miserable last campaign which saw him score just four league goals in 32 games.

He had shown a bit of promise in his first season, netting ten league goals, but dropped off massively in his second year after arriving from Serie A side Atalanta and joined Napoli on loan this summer, who also have an obligation to buy him permanently should they qualify for Champions League football.

The 22-year-old has made a fine start to life back in Italy, scoring four goals in six games in all competitions under Antonio Conte, helping them to the top of the Serie A table with NonStopCasino.co.uk betting sites having Napoli down as favourites to lift the title. That would mean Hojlund leaves United permanently, something which would welcome in Naples given his recent run of form.

Antony

The Brazilian winger is probably deemed the biggest flop of all at Old Trafford, given his enormous price tag of £86m and obvious lack of return.

But after impressing on loan at Real Betis last season, 25-year-old joined the club on a permanent deal this summer.

It looks as though he is still getting up to speed, having netted once in his opening five games and Betis will be hoping he can get back to the level of performance he showed last season.

Marcus Rashford

Former United academy youngster Rashford secured his dream move to Barcelona this past summer on an initial loan, though the Spanish giants also have the option to buy him.

Rashford was brilliant at times for United but much less so towards the end of his tenure and spent the second half of last season on loan at Aston Villa.

It is particularly frustrating for Red Devils supporters that he is already showing what he is still capable of at Barca, scoring twice in the Champions League win over Newcastle and recording eight goal contributions in his first ten games for Hansi Flick’s side.

Jadon Sancho

Chelsea opted not to buy Sancho on a permanent deal following his loan spell at the club last season and he has since ended up at Aston Villa.

It has not gone to plan for the winger so far, however, having played just once in the Premier League because of fitness issues and Villa boss Unai Emery will be hoping for much more, while United have still failed to move him on permanently despite being frozen out by Red Devils head coach Ruben Amorim.
