Christian Eriksen (33) is set to begin a new chapter in his career after agreeing terms with Wolfsburg. As reported by Fabrizio Romano, the 33-year-old midfielder, who became a free agent following his Old Trafford exit in June, is expected to undergo a medical before the move is officially confirmed.
For Eriksen, the switch to Germany offers a fresh challenge after a mixed spell in Manchester. Signed from Brentford in 2022, he arrived after an impressive spell with The Bees, racking up five goal involvements in his 11 appearances for the club.
However, his time at Manchester United was marked by inconsistency. Injuries disrupted his rhythm, and questions were often asked about his ability to cope with the physical demands of Premier League midfield battles. Yet despite those limitations, he was still able to contribute five goals and six assists across 35 appearances in a struggling Manchester United side last season.
The move to Wolfsburg comes as a surprise, particularly after strong links with Bayer Leverkusen and a potential reunion with former Denmark coach Kasper Hjulmand.
At Wolfsburg, Eriksen will be tasked with providing leadership and creative spark to a relatively youthful squad.
