Brentford have teamed up with Fantasy Football Scout to help bring you hints, tips and advice during the 2025/26 Fantasy Premier League (FPL) season.

Scout will be using their expertise to provide info, advice and Gameweek tips which may prove useful in ensuring you sit on top of your mini-leagues.

Best of the Bees

Gameweek 2 saw the Bees get off to a winning start at Gtech Community Stadium for the 2025/26 season. The win and a clean sheet against last season’s Champions League quarter-finalists, Aston Villa, has put Brentford assets back on the radar of FPL managers.

Before the only goal, there was almost an opener from Mikkel Damsgaard (£5.9m). The playmaker missed Gameweek 1 but quickly reminded fans of his abilities by dancing through the Villa defence.

He thought he’d scored later on, continuing the team’s trend for scoring from throw-ins, but it was ruled out for an earlier foul on goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez (£5.0m).

Shot-stopper Caoimhín Kelleher (£4.5m) pleased his 1.1 million FPL owners by registering a clean sheet, and a staggering six Brentford players were rewarded with a couple of those brand-new defensive contribution (DC) points.

Defenders Nathan Collins (£5.0m), Sepp van den Berg (£4.5m) and Michael Kayode (£4.5m) reached 10 or more DC actions - clearances, blocks, interceptions, tackles - while Damsgaard, Yehor Yarmoliuk (£5.0m) and Dango Ouattara (£6.0m) exceeded the 12 threshold for attackers, that also includes ball recoveries.

The Spotlight

It was a dream debut for the club’s record signing, Ouattara. A knock-on header by Igor Thiago (£6.0m) played him through in the 12th minute.

Ouattara’s first shot was saved, but he squeezed home the rebound - though such a sequence denied Thiago from gaining a Fantasy assist.

Added to a clean sheet point, defensive actions and bonuses, the Burkina Faso international racked up a score of 13.

In and out of Bournemouth’s starting lineup last season, the 23-year-old had a strong run in their side between Gameweeks 16 and 27. A chunk of this was as a centre-forward during Evanilson’s (£7.0m) absence and included a hat-trick versus Forest.

The upcoming trip to Sunderland means Ouattara could be a fun, differential way out for those possessing the potentially unavailable Cole Palmer (£10.5m) and Bukayo Saka (£10.0m).

Best of the Rest

It was a weekend full of injuries for highly picked FPL names. Jeremie Frimpong (£5.9m) had already been ruled out, but there are now concerns over Palmer, Saka and Rayan Aït-Nouri (£6.1m) too.

Even without Palmer, Chelsea beat West Ham, as FPL’s highest owned player, João Pedro (£7.6m), brought Friday night joy to many by bagging a goal, two assists and 15 points.

Many benched FPL players were therefore needed to step in as automatic substitutions, often Spurs defenders who responded by keeping a clean sheet at Manchester City.

Yet these were early peaks, as we saw the likes of Erling Haaland (£14.1m), Tijani Reijnders (£5.7m), Ollie Watkins (£9.0m), Bruno Fernandes (£9.0m) and Florian Wirtz (£8.4m) produce nothing.

However, those invested in Arsenal were happy. A Viktor Gyökeres (£9.0m) brace reached 12 points, but defender Jurriën Timber (£5.5m) achieved double. Not only did the Gunners keep a clean sheet, but the Dutchman scored twice and assisted Saka.

In Demand

This time, all Gameweek 3 team decisions - including who to buy - need to be made by 11am BST on Saturday.

Pedro is going to be even more embedded in the template squad because he’s on his way to another million purchases. Meanwhile, in-form Antoine Semenyo (£7.2m) and Richarlison (£6.7m) will face each other at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Understandably, the most sold assets are the players with knocks. Expect sales to increase once managers say more in their pre-match press conferences.

Captaincy

Mohamed Salah (£14.5m) has delivered in each match but still brings a feeling of disappointment. Both occasions had the Egyptian enter second-half stoppage time with nothing, until an eventual moment of magic, in this case assisting the dramatic winner in Monday’s 3-2 thriller against Newcastle.

Managers may be tempted to stay away from Liverpool’s clash with Arsenal and instead put their armband on Pedro, a Manchester United attacker at home to Burnley, or Chris Wood (£7.7m) versus West Ham.
