France remain fifth in the UEFA country coefficient after the latest European fixtures, and are now to within two points of Italy in this season's table.
According to L'Équipe, PSG's 2-0 win over Liverpool in the Champions League lifted France's week. Strasbourg then lost 0-2 at Mainz in the Europa Conference League.
France are sixth in this season's ranking on 16.678 points, with Italy fifth on 18.714. The PSG result clawed back half a point. Bologna lost 1-3 at Aston Villa in the Europa League, and Fiorentina were beaten 3-0 by Crystal Palace in the Conference League.
On the five-year list, France have 81.855 points and will keep fifth place at season's end. They are 9.889 points clear of Portugal in sixth. Braga and Porto drew at home in the Europa League, while Sporting Portugal lost 0-1 to Arsenal in the Champions League.
Strasbourg are one of only two French clubs still in Europe, alongside PSG.
Ligue 1's fifth place ensures seven European spots for 2027-28, four in the Champions League, two in the Europa League and one in the Europa Conference League. The top three qualify directly, the fourth enters the qualifying rounds.
