There's now just over a month left of the 2026-27 summer transfer window.
Liverpool were expected to massively change their team around with a full on rebuild even being mooted.
Indeed, Fenway Sports Group managed to start this off by welcoming Andoni Iraola as their new manager but, thanks to things such as the 2026 World Cup and the Reds' pre-season tour of the USA, only Victor Munoz and Jeremy Jacquet have been brought in so far.
And, while both of them help solve some of the issues that Liverpool have faced, it's clear that a few more players are still needed before the Reds can actually announce themselves as competitors for silverware this term.
However, since the Anfield outfit are a sell-to-buy club, some exits may also be needed before more deals get over the line at Anfield.
So, with this in mind, it's nice to know that the future of one Liverpool star is now obvious.
One of the main Liverpool players to have been linked with an exit this summer is Cody Gakpo.
The attacker has become one of the Reds' most important players over the last couple of years with the Dutchman even netting 50 goals for the club ever since he joined back in the 2022-23 season.
However, after Luis Diaz exited L4 last summer, things just didn't click for Gakpo which led to him only scoring nine goals for the Reds last term.
The 2025-26 campaign was one of his worst-ever for Liverpool.
Gakpo's trademark move is to run down the by-line and then cut in onto his preferred right foot and, unfortunately for him, most clubs figured this out which led to him being rather ineffective.
This lack of form led to transfer rumours about his future being shared and now, thanks to an update from Fabrizio Romano, the 27-year-old's next step feels as clear as day.
"Matias Fernandez-Pardo could still leave Lille this summer with top clubs moving and preparing to bid soon," he wrote.
"Lille president Letang insists to keep the player but proposals will be on the table to discuss situation soon."

Ever since Mohamed Salah announced that he was exiting Anfield, attackers have constantly been linked with Liverpool.
Yan Diomande and Bradley Barcola have been the two main players suggested to be on the verge of making an Anfield switch but, at the moment, it's unclear whether either of those moves will end up working out.
That's why several back-up options have been mooted as potential avenues for Liverpool to explore.
And, among those players, Matias Fernandez-Pardo is one of the best that they could choose.
The Belgian is only 21 years old but he's quickly become one of Lille's most important players.
Last season, he played across the front three and featured in 41 games for the Anfield outfit.
During that time, he contributed to 15 goals across all competitions and hardly missed any games due to injury.
These performances have made the youngster become one of the most sought-after attacker's in the world and, on the face of things, he's an ideal replacement for Gakpo.
Of course, a deal would cost Liverpool a hefty chunk of change but, if Gakpo is moved on and sold to Tottenham or another team, they'd easily be able to afford it.
And, with how desperately the Reds need attacker's, Fernandez-Pardo could be an ideal player for them to target.
