Game of Thrones actor Nikolaj Coster-Waldau signalled his Leeds United allegiance with a quick salute before Soccer Aid kicked off at West Ham’s London Stadium.

According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, a clip on X showed the Danish star nodding to camera as he flashed the salute on the touchline.

Coster-Waldau started at right-back for the World XI, managed by 100m great Usain Bolt, but lasted barely 20 minutes before Gladiators’ Nitro replaced him with the game still 0-0.

England went on to beat the World XI 3-2 and the event raised £16.5 million for UNICEF UK. Goals came from Jermain Defoe, Michael Essien and Tim Cahill. The charity match came a week after Leeds lost 3-0 at the same ground in their final 2025/26 Premier League game.

A long-time Leeds supporter and self-confessed Marcelo Bielsa fanboy, he fronted a BBC video after the 2019/20 promotion, leaving a voicemail that thanked the coach for ending the club’s 16-year wait.

He reiterated that affection on Jimmy Kimmel Live in 2019, joking that Bielsa could magically transform the world for the better. The 55-year-old is best known as Jaime Lannister in Game of Thrones, earning two Emmy nominations, and has since appeared in The Last Thing He Told Me and BBC drama King & Conqueror as William, Duke of Normandy.
