Gary Neville has reacted to Mohamed Salah’s dig at Liverpool manager Arne Slot on social media yesterday.

Liverpool could fail to qualify for next season’s Champions League after a 4-2 defeat to Aston Villa on Friday left the Reds with a job to do.

The Merseyside club may have to win against Brentford at Anfield on the final day of the season to finish fifth and book a place in the league phase of the elite European competition.

Salah was far from happy after Liverpool suffered their 12th Premier League loss of 2025-26 on Friday night, and took to X to make his feelings towards Slot known.

Neville was unimpressed, blasting Salah on Sky Sports earlier today.

“He’s pulled the pin out of a grenade and just thrown it in the middle of the room, he’s on his way out of the room by the way,” the pundit said.

“Mo’s not happy over there. It’s not great; if he’s a Manchester United player, I would be fuming. But what you can never do with this type of character and this type of personality and this stature of player is keep them quiet.

“They’ve got something to say, they’re going to say it, and they’re going to say it at the point where maybe you don’t want to hear it. It was a telling comment.

“Arne Slot will not welcome that whatsoever, but I think he’ll just want to get to the end of the season, get out of there and get everybody out there that’s not going to be there next season.”

Salah has been far from impressive this term, with 12 goals and nine assists in 40 appearances to his name.

However, the 33-year-old believes Slot’s style of play is solely to blame for his and Liverpool’s form.

They won the Premier League title under the Dutchman last term and Salah cannot put the blame solely on him.

The Egyptian’s decline cannot be Slot’s fault, and Diogo Jota’s tragic passing also affected everyone at the club.

There have been too many changes to the starting XI following some major departures last summer, and those recruited failed to hit the ground running.
