Gaviões da Fiel condemned a pre-match ban on protest banners at Neo Química Arena ahead of Corinthians versus Athletico Paranaense.
According to Meu Timao, the group had prepared messages aimed at the board and president Osmar Stabile, citing the Cori, transfer bans and mounting debts.
The supporters said the materials were inspected and approved by the Military Police Shock Battalion, which checks items taken into stadiums. Despite that, staff at the Casa do Povo initially blocked their entry, then later allowed them.
Arena communications said employees were unsure whether the banners were permitted. Shortly after Osmar Stabile arrived, the group was cleared to take the materials into the ground.
Tensions between the organised fans and the hierarchy predate this episode. On Wednesday, Gaviões went to Parque São Jorge to press Stabile on the potential SAF model and the club’s strained finances, including transfer bans of R$ 23 million and debt above R$ 3 billion.
The banners questioned who the Cori represents, insisted a court injunction would not silence supporters, accused leaders of prioritising power over a plan to tackle debt, and decried the scale of what is owed.
