Gaviões da Fiel president on the group’s performance at the 2026 Carnival

Throughout the afternoon of this Tuesday (17th), Gaviões da Fiel, the main organized supporters group of Corinthians, secured second place in the Special Group at the São Paulo Carnival of 2026, scoring 269.7 points across nine evaluated topics, losing only to Mocidade. The school has been improving in performance over the past few years. In 2024, they finished fourth, last year third, and this year, as runners-up.

In an interview with Rede Globo after the end of the scoring, the president of Gaviões da Fiel commented on the group's performance in this edition and celebrated the progress over the past years. He also projected the next edition of the Carnival: “I even smoked a cigarette, and I don't even smoke. I was very anxious, very tense. It wasn't what we were expecting, but we are happy. When it comes to Corinthians, it's always step by step, with suffering.”

“We came from a fourth place, then a third, and now second. Everyone expects the title next year; our community and our supporters deserve it. But God didn't want it that way this time. “I have to be very thankful for our harmony; those who witnessed our parade saw that we shook Anhembi! Next year, you can expect this again from Gaviões da Fiel. Anhembi trembled like in an earthquake, and this earthquake will pass through this avenue again!”, he said.

In 2026, the theme of Gaviões da Fiel – “Ancestral Voices for a New Tomorrow” – focused on valuing indigenous peoples, as well as the environmental preservation of Brazilian forests. At the end of the presentation, the intention was to depict what reality would have been like if the indigenous people had been heard by the European colonizers in America – in Brazil's case, the Portuguese.

Throughout history, Gaviões da Fiel has won the Carnival four times: 1995, 1999, 2002, and 2003. With the second place, the largest organized group of Corinthians will participate in the champions' parade, alongside the other top four, scheduled for next Saturday at 9 PM (Brasília time) at the Anhembi Sambadrome.
