Gennaro Gattuso is set to take charge at Lazio and Maurizio Sarri is poised to join Atalanta, according to Fabrizio Romano, who posted his ‘Here We Go’ update and said official announcements are imminent.
The post added that Gattuso has agreed a two-year deal to become head coach.
Sarri is expected to sign for Atalanta, replacing Raffaele Palladino. His exit from Lazio had long been anticipated amid friction with president Claudio Lotito.
Sarri was initially approached by Napoli, who are seeking a successor to Antonio Conte after he announced his departure on Sunday.
Palladino had been considered for the Lazio role, but Gattuso has moved ahead in recent hours.
Gattuso, 48, has previously managed Milan, Napoli and Marseille, and won the 2019/20 Coppa Italia with the Partenopei when football resumed after the Covid-19 stoppage.
