Bayern Munich scored 112 goals on their way to securing a 34th Bundesliga title, and so it’s only right that five of Vincent Kompany’s charges have been included in Get German Football News’ 2025/26 Team of the Season, but who makes up the remaining positions?

Gregor Kobel (Borussia Dortmund)

Fifteen clean sheets: no player kept more than Borussia Dortmund’s Gregor Kobel, who played every single minute in the Bundesliga as Niko Kovac’s charges secured second place ahead of RB Leipzig. Continuing an upward career trajectory, it’s no surprise that Premier League sides are interested in signing BVB’s custodian. At 28, the Switzerland international is a key member of one of the division’s best defensive units as Die Schwarzgelben’s newfound defensive stability is a pillar of their pragmatic style of football.

An imposing presence between the sticks, Kobel has often come up trumps in key moments for Dortmund. He has only conceded 34 goals from the 40.04 xGOT faced while his 72.4 per cent save percentage ranks him among the elite. Daniel Pinder

Julian Ryerson (Borussia Dortmund)

Julian Ryerson has been one of Borussia Dortmund’s most reliable performers during the 2025/26 Bundesliga season, combining consistency, versatility and intensity across the campaign. Whether deployed at right-back, left-back or in a more advanced wide role, the Norway international has delivered stability in a Dortmund side that has often relied on his work rate and defensive discipline.

Beyond his defensive contribution, Ryerson has also improved offensively this season. His timing in overlapping runs, delivery into the box and ability to support transitions have added another dimension to Dortmund’s attack. Just as importantly, he has maintained a high physical level throughout the campaign, regularly covering large distances and handling difficult defensive assignments against some of the Bundesliga’s most dangerous wingers.

In a season where Dortmund have experienced fluctuations in form, Ryerson’s consistency has made him one of the squad’s most dependable figures. Felipe

Luka Vušković (Hamburg)

Crowned Get German Football News’ Young Player of the Season, Luka Vušković’s rise has been meteoric. A breakout star, the Croatian has been a defensive stalwart for Hamburg and was key in the Bundesliga returnees staying in the division. A rock at the back and a goal threat in attack having struck six goals, the Tottenham Hotspur loanee has established himself as one of the division’s leading defenders.

Ranking in the 97th percentile for clearances (251), 96th percentile for defensive contributions (339), 95th percentile for blocked shots (26), 92nd percentile for recoveries (126) and 91st percentile for interceptions (40), Vušković – a leader in defence – is without a doubt one of Europe’s rising stars. Nico Schlotterbeck (Borussia Dortmund)

Schlotterbeck has had an up-and-down season. The 26-year-old began the campaign recovering from a meniscus tear, then his return immediately resulted in ramped-up talk about his contract and whether he would extend or not at Borussia Dortmund

Ultimately, Schlotterbeck has decided to stay at the Westfalenstadion until 2031, and he has shown why over the next five years he will be key to any success Dortmund may have. Not only did the centre-back captain the team several times, but his on-pitch performances showed how is continuing to develop as a centre-back and could spend his prime years with BVB. Jack Meenan

David Raum (RB Leipzig)

Last season, the left-back struggled and even lost his place in the German national team to Maximilian Mittelstädt. Now, the RB Leipzig captain has regained his place in the national team as well as refinding his form at the Red Bull Arena.

Raum ended the season with three goals and seven assists in 30 Bundesliga games as he led Leipzig back into the Champions League. The fact that he has been able to displace Alejandro Grimaldo as one of the best left-backs in the league also shows his level during this campaign.

However, in a recent interview, the 28-year-old remained coy about his future. JM

Joshua Kimmich (Bayern Munich)

Joshua Kimmich has once again been one of the defining players of Bayern Munich’s Bundesliga campaign in 2025/26, combining leadership, consistency and tactical intelligence at the centre of Vincent Kompany’s system. In a season shaped by Bayern’s record-breaking attacking output, Kimmich has remained the player responsible for controlling rhythm and structure in midfield.

Operating primarily as a deep-lying playmaker, Kimmich has dictated tempo with his passing range and positional awareness while also contributing defensively through pressing and ball recoveries. His ability to switch play quickly and progress possession through central areas has been essential to Bayern’s fluid attacking transitions.

Beyond the statistics, Kimmich’s influence has been reflected in Bayern’s overall balance. His experience and composure have helped stabilise the side during difficult moments, while his consistency across the campaign has reinforced his status as one of the Bundesliga’s elite midfielders. Felipe

Aleksandar Pavlović (Bayern Munich)

Aleksandar Pavlović has taken another major step forward during Bayern Munich’s 2025/26 Bundesliga campaign, establishing himself as one of the league’s standout young midfielders. Under Vincent Kompany, the 21-year-old has become increasingly important in Bayern’s midfield structure, combining composure in possession with tactical intelligence beyond his years.

Pavlović’s ability to dictate tempo and progress the ball through central areas has given Bayern greater control in matches. While Bayern’s attack has attracted most of the attention this season, the midfielder’s contribution in maintaining balance between defence and attack has been crucial to the team’s success.

Defensively, Pavlović has also shown clear development. His positioning and reading of the game have improved significantly, allowing him to recover possession effectively while supporting Bayern’s pressing structure. In a squad filled with established stars, Pavlović has emerged as one of the defining young players of the Bundesliga season. Felipe

Michael Olise (Bayern Munich)

A revelation since joining Bayern Munich, Michael Olise was crowned Get German Football News’ Player of the Season for 2024/25 and it seems harsh to not see the Frenchman win it for successive seasons, but his teammate Harry Kane has been that good, largely down to the performances of Olise.

With 15 goals and 19 assists in 32 Bundesliga games this season, Olise enjoyed his best campaign to date. The 24-year-old continues to dazzle among Europe’s best attackers and in the Bundesliga is ranked in the 100th percentile for xA (Expected Assists), big chances created and successful passes, 97th percentile for successful dribbles and duels won.

Striking up a formidable partnership with Luis Díaz and Kane, the trio – who surpassed a 100-goal haul – have formed an incredible understanding which has made Bayern’s attack, alongside Paris Saint-Germain, the most feared in Europe. DP

Christoph Baumgartner (RB Leipzig)

Baumgartner had been in the shadow of Xavi Simons since he moved to RB Leipzig in 2023. However, with the departure of the Dutchman, the arrival of Ole Werner and a change in formation, the Austrian has had the best season of his career and delivered on the promise he showed at Hoffenheim.

In 33 games, the 26-year-old ended the season with 13 goals and nine assists. His previous best goals tally was nine, which he had reached in February.

If the Austrian carries this form into next season, he will once again be a key component of the Leipzig attack especially as this young team continues to develop and mature. JM

Luis Díaz (Bayern Munich)

Luis Díaz has added pace, directness and unpredictability to Bayern Munich’s attack during the 2025/26 Bundesliga season, quickly establishing himself as one of the league’s most dangerous wide players. The Colombian international has thrived under Vincent Kompany, becoming a key figure in Bayern’s record-breaking offensive campaign.

Díaz’s impact has gone beyond goals and assists. His ability to isolate defenders in one-on-one situations and accelerate transitions has given Bayern another dimension in attack. Whether starting from the left or drifting centrally, he has consistently stretched defensive lines and created space for teammates.

The winger has also delivered in important moments throughout the season, particularly in high-intensity matches where Bayern needed individual quality to break games open. Combined with his relentless work rate off the ball, Díaz has become one of Bayern’s most complete attacking players and one of the standout performers in the Bundesliga this season. Felipe

Harry Kane (Bayern Munich)

Crowned Get German Football News’ Player of the Season, Harry Kane has continued his phenomenal output. Responsible for 36 of Bayern’s 122 Bundesliga goals in 2025/26, never has the Englishman been so prolific across all competitions with 58 strikes in 50 games.

With four hat-tricks and six braces in Germany’s top flight alone, Kane’s ability to engineer space and unleash a ferocious shot towards goal is unrivalled. So often has Bayern’s No.9 popped up with crucial goals while his footballing IQ is up their with the very best to ever grace a game; which has aided Luis Diaz and Michael Olise.

Combining a physical presence with great technical ability, Kane doesn’t look like slowing down any time soon and you can expect him to terrorise Bundesliga defences once again in 2026/27. DP
