From Cagliari to Cagliari. In just a few months, Daniele Ghilardi’s growth has been impressive.
Gian Piero Gasperini was the first to notice him and gradually gave him more and more playing time.
Despite the disastrous loss in Athens against Panathinaikos, the defender has put in several excellent performances.
He received the Man of the Match award against Allegri’s AC Milan and played a solid game yesterday against Pisacane’s Cagliari.
And right after the match against the Sardinians, the 2003-born defender was bought by Verona for €8 million + €1 million in bonuses.
According to Fabrizio Romano, 50% of this sum will go to Fiorentina, Ghilardi’s former club before his move to Veneto.
The agreement between Roma and Verona, in fact, included a loan with an option to buy, which would become mandatory upon the fulfillment of certain conditions.
And so, after Gian Piero Gasperini’s men earned their first point in February, the Trigoria club officially signed number 87 from Hellas Verona.
