Goal of the Season! Luis Diaz honoured by FC Bayern fans | OneFootball

It was a goal that demonstrated both the gifted footballing ability of Luis Díaz and his mentality. After a slightly overhit pass from Josip Stanišić, the Colombian just about kept the ball in play on the byline with a slide tackle. WIth a brilliant movement, he then sidestepped Union defender Janik Haberer before lashing the ball past goalkeeper Frederik Rönnow into the net from the byline. This incredible shot not only left teammate Stanišić in a state of stunned ecstasy during the ensuing celebration, but also had Bayern fans raving.

Supporters of the German record champions have chosen the forward’s strike to make it 1-1 in the 2-2 draw at 1. FC Union Berlin last November as their 2025/26 Goal of the Season.

The strike was previously crowned Goal of the Year 2025 by Sportschau in January. “When I watch the goal, I can’t quite believe I scored it,” commented the 29-year-old. “I just thought to shoot as quickly as possible so we could score a goal. It was incredible.” In the vote carried out among FC Bayern fans following the end of the campaign, Díaz’s goal was the clear winner with 53.8 percent of the votes. Michael Olise claimed second and third place with his efforts against Real Madrid (15.8%) and VfL Wolfsburg (6.7%).

It was one of 26 competitive goals scored by Díaz in his debut season in Munich. He also registered 19 assists in all competitions. The Colombian proved to be a real quality addition to the Bayern attack from the start in his first campaign, which ended with the Bundesliga, DFB Cup and DFL Supercup titles. We look forward to many more goals and successes with “Lucho” in a Bayern shirt!
