Guido Rodríguez has landed in Valencia, touching down at Manises around 21:00. He will undergo a medical on Monday, then his signing will be announced. According to AS, he will sign until June.
The Argentina midfielder was able to extend his West Ham deal, which ran to June, and leave on loan, but chose a permanent move instead. Valencia’s interest and his wish to return to Spain were key to bringing him to Mestalla.
He said he felt good and very happy, having spoken several times with Corberán, and noted he was signing until June because that is how these operations work. He added he only knew a couple of days ago that he would come, that a debut against Betis would be special, and that he wants to contribute and get to know the group.
He described Valencia as a very big club that has achieved many things and stressed he is here to work. He was greeted by a large media presence in the arrivals hall.
Valencia have paid a small fee to release him, effectively a minor transfer, a mechanism that also allowed them to beat other suitors for the Argentina international. Despite the short deal, the plan is to work quickly on a longer stay.
