Gvardiol to opt for Man City extension or Real Madrid move at Bayern's expense | OneFootball

Bayern Munich's ambitious dreams of signing Manchester City's Josko Gvardiol have been dashed, according to Sky Germany.

The defender will decide between either signing a new contract with Man City beyond 2028 or making a move to Real Madrid this summer. 

Interest is supposedly concrete from the Galacticos in the Spanish capital who have been monitoring the Croatian for some time.

However, the Citizens are pushing to keep him at the Etihad Stadium and have placed a lucrative offer on his table. 

Regardless of what happens, Bayern are undoubtedly out of the race for Gvardiol who played for RB Leipzig between 2020 and 2023.

There is huge appreciation for the 24 y/o top centre-back, but he is considered too expensive and there is currently no need in that position. 

The German record champions are already pushing to sign Eintracht Frankfurt's Nathaniel Brown, while Alphonso Davies' future is unknown.
