Hansi Flick confirms Barcelona star is ‘a doubt’ to face Celta Vigo | OneFootball

Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has confirmed that a leading member of his backline may not be available for selection to face Celta Vigo on Sunday.

The player in question? Jules Koundé.

Stopper Koundé has seen his name take its place front and centre behind the scenes in Catalunya’s capital across the day to date.

As much comes after the Frenchman was forced into a premature departure from group training at the Ciutat Esportiva.

Suffering with an ongoing fitness complaint, the former Sevilla man was taken back to the dressing room for a round of medical treatment.

Speaking during his ensuing pre-match press conference this afternoon, the subject of Koundé’s status to feature against Celta Vigo on Sunday was therefore put to manager Hansi Flick.

And Barca’s headmaster went on to admit:

“Koundé hasn’t fully recovered yet and I doubt he’ll travel tomorrow.”

Flick also added that, despite suffering a broken nose against Club Brugge in the Champions League in midweek:

“Eric García will be available.“
