The contracts of several Manchester United stars are up in the summer, including key performer Harry Maguire.

Casemiro has already announced he is leaving at the conclusion of the current campaign, while both Tyrell Malacia and Jadon Sancho are expected to follow suit.

However, INEOS remain undecided on the centre-back’s future. He currently earns £190,000 gross per week, excluding bonuses (via capology), and the only way for him to extend his Old Trafford career is if he agrees to take a pay cut.

While the England international would prefer to stay, the lure of Middle Eastern riches and the chance to reunite with a former manager has made the choice tougher.

Harry Maguire offered big money

According to The Sun, Al Qadsiah, currently managed by former Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers, have the 32-year-old in their sights.

The Saudi club can afford to hand the defender a major pay rise, which at this stage of his career, would be hard to turn down.

“MANCHESTER UNITED centre-back Harry Maguire is keen to extend his stay at Old Trafford – but he is now wanted by his former Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers at Al-Qadsiah.

“The England star, 32, is facing an uncertain future because his contract, which is worth close to £200,000-a-week, is set to expire in the summer.

Chance to reunite with a former boss

“And Maguire, who has to take a pay cut to remain on board, would make more money by leaving United on a free transfer due to signing on fees.”

Michael Carrick had already blocked his exit in January when multiple Serie A sides expressed interest in arranging a pre-contract agreement.

The rest of the United squad have already sent a clear message to the co-owners: they want Harry Maguire to stay due to his quality on and off the pitch.

INEOS cannot afford to make a mistake

Dilly-dallying on INEOS’ part could lead to the former club captain leaving. That would not be great for team morale.

He has really turned his United career around, and has taken his game to greater heights since Carrick’s arrival. Hopefully, he is fit enough to face Everton next week.
