Hellas Verona gave Inter Milan a run for their money in yesterday’s Serie A clash at Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi but eventually slumped to a 2-1 defeat.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews, Inter’s performance flattered to deceive.
Cristian Chivu’s side headed into proceedings in a buoyant mood following a 3-0 rout of Fiorentina in midweek Serie A action.
However, Verona fared outstandingly on their home turf before Martin Frese scored a sloppy own goal in second-half stoppages.

Piotr Zielinski netted a superb volley midway through the first half to open the scoring.
Yet, Verona fought back on the stroke of halftime as Giovane beat Yann Sommer with a thumping finish.
Moreover, the hosts nearly turned the game on its head when Gift Orban hit the post right before the halftime whistle.
However, Inter won the game right at the death, reducing the gap to pacesetters Napoli to a single point.
Despite not being at their best, Chivu’s side managed to get into the win column ahead of Kairat Almaty’s visit to San Siro on Wednesday.
