At FC Bayern, planning for the future of the squad is in full swing – and it appears that not only Max Eberl and Christoph Freund are involved, but also the powerful supervisory board members around Uli Hoeneß and Karl-Heinz Rummenigge are said to have been actively involved in the discussions about possible new additions

As several media outlets recently reported, the most recent supervisory board meeting saw intensive discussions about squad planning for the coming season

One name in particular is said to have been mentioned repeatedly: Kennt Eichhorn from Hertha BSC

BILD head of soccer Christian Falk revealed in the Bayern Insider podcast that the top Berlin talent played a major role in the meeting. „Eichhorn was very, very present at the supervisory board meeting. Bayern really want him. Eberl presented his concept,“ explained Falk

The 16-year-old is regarded as one of Germany’s greatest young talents and has been on the wish lists of numerous top clubs for months

Competition makes life difficult for Bayern

However, a transfer is likely to be anything but easy, as Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig are said to be intensively courting Eichhorn alongside FC Bayern

BVB, in particular, has been considered extremely attractive for young talents for years when it comes to rapid development and playing time in the professional game

Despite this, Bayern have no intention of giving in, according to Falk: „Bayern will keep at it,“ emphasized the transfer expert

The great interest in Eichhorn fits in perfectly with Munich’s current strategy. Internally, the record champions are working hard to tie more top German talent to the club at an early stage

With players such as Lennart Karl and Aleksandar Pavlovic, Bayern have recently been able to show that the path from campus to the pros has become more realistic again

Release clause makes transfer possible

According to consistent media reports, Eichhorn has a release clause next summer, which is said to be between ten and twelve million euros

That would be an enormous sum for a 16-year-old – but at the same time it also shows how highly regarded the talent is internally at Hertha

It is also worth noting the extent to which Bayern’s top bosses are apparently involved in transfer planning, with Uli Hoeneß and Karl-Heinz Rummenigge in particular said to continue to have a major influence on strategically important decisions

The fact that Eichhorn was discussed intensively at the supervisory board meeting therefore also shows how seriously the Munich club obviously takes the issue.
