Bolton Wanderers have announced that over 20,000 season ticket holders and members will be making their way to Wembley on May 24
The 2025/26 League One campaign comes to an end on Sunday, as Stockport County battle with Bolton Wanderers at Wembley to see who will join Lincoln City and Cardiff City in the Championship next season.
Both Greater Manchester sides are set to make the journey down to London for a 1pm kickoff, and they'll be backed by tens of thousands of loud supporters who will be eager to celebrate promotion come the evening.
This is Bolton's first game back under the arch since the third-tier play-off final two years ago, where they were upset by Oxford United. Around 30,000 Trotters fans packed into the home of English football that afternoon, but left disappointed.
Two years on, Steven Schumacher's side are hoping to end their play-off hoodoo and make it third time lucky in their third League One postseason in the last four years.

Bolton have been allocated 36,241 tickets for this Sunday's play-off final, and they'll feel confident that they can sell out the vast majority of that allocation, especially given the number of tickets they have been able to sell thus far.
On Monday afternoon, the club announced, via X, that they had sold 20,000 tickets for the big game on Sunday. Crucially, all this came before tickets were open to the general public.
Indeed, tickets are just available for season ticket holders, official club members and lifeline members, currently. General sale opens on Tuesday at 10am.
So, with people who will take the opportunity for a day out at Wembley to support a club they haven't necessarily followed up and down the country, still yet to buy tickets, Bolton will likely sell a significant number of tickets more than the 20,000 they've already shipped.
The West End of Wembley will be a sea of white on Sunday, and they'll be hoping for a different performance to the one they watched two years ago against Oxford, and a more favourable result to go along with it.

Given the size of the two respective fanbases, it was a given that Bolton were going to take more fans to Wembley.
That doesn't mean that Stockport aren't doing their part, though. They ended the weekend with ticket sales hitting 10,000, although they're already available to all supporters on general sale, and there'll likely be more making the trip over to the capital this time around, compared to the Vertu Trophy final in April.
However, the Hatters' initial allocation was only 22,000, and the fact that Bolton have nearly crossed that number already just goes to show how outnumbered the Stockport fans will be this Sunday.
But that doesn't automatically equal victory on the field, and the Stockport fans will ensure that they are heard from the East side of Wembley. Bolton will have to make sure they are louder to try and will their side on to victory.
Nevertheless, it's impressive to see the swell of support that both sides are getting heading into the most important game of their respective seasons, and they'll all have their part to play if either team are to end the weekend as a Championship club.
