Leeds United midfielder Ilia Gruev has shared a rehabilitation update after the meniscus knee injury that ended his season.

The Bulgarian international, 26, had enjoyed a run of starts in the second half of the campaign before suffering the setback in training.

According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, head coach Daniel Farke said before the FA Cup semi-final against Chelsea that Gruev’s season was over, though he was expected to return for pre-season.

Two and a half months later, Gruev posted from Athens on Instagram, showing himself on an exercise bike and running on a treadmill.

The update carried the caption "rehab", underlining that the midfielder is progressing in his recovery.
