Leeds United’s Ilia Gruev shares rehab update after knee injury

Leeds United midfielder Ilia Gruev has offered a fitness update as he continues his comeback from a meniscus knee injury.

The player said in a post that he was in “rehab”, sharing images from Athens, including time on an exercise bike and a video of him running on a treadmill.

The Bulgarian international had enjoyed a good run of starts in the second half of the campaign, but the 26-year-old’s season was curtailed after he suffered the injury in training.

Ahead of the FA Cup semi-final against Chelsea, it was confirmed that his season was over, with an expectation he would be back for pre-season.

Two and a half months on from the setback, his latest update points to progress in his recovery work.
