Leeds United boss Daniel Farke insists he is addicted to results rather than performances and does not just pray for results every weekend while enjoying beers with his squad.

Farke saw his men lose their first league game of the season last time out when they were beaten at home by Burnley.

There is a degree of pressure on the German manager to deliver promotion this season after Leeds missed out on going up last term, losing out in the playoff final.

Farke though is happy with how his team are performing and stressed it is performances, rather than results, that he is most obsessed with.

The German stressed he is not just sitting around drinking beer with his squad to make sure no one gets injured and praying for results, but is focused on the performances that can deliver them.

“You can’t concentrate just on praying for results or be too addicted to results”, Farke told a press  conference.

“What you have to concentrate on as a coach, if you want to be successful, is more like concentrating on delivering performances.

“This is also how I work with my team, so I’m not just sitting there and praying somehow for results.

“Saying, come on we don’t train and just have a few bottles of beer then no one can be injured and everyone is always available, and then we pray for a result at the weekend.

“It’s more like sure that you deliver performances and this is what I want to see.

“I am not addicted to results although I know we are all judged on results as a manager. I am just addicted to performances”, the Leeds boss added.

While performances are key for Farke, he will be keen to have the result to go along with it next time out, away against Cardiff City in the Championship.
