Castellón hosted Almería on Holy Thursday then Granada on Easter Monday, filling SkyFi Castalia twice over a few days.
According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, home fans turned out in numbers, many tweaking travel plans to be there.
There was surprise when full-back Tincho started for Pablo Hernández after his red card against Almería. The committee did not meet, so those dismissals will be served next weekend.
Having borne the brunt of international absences, with their first outing of the block on Monday, Castellón began to get players back. Australia winger Awer Mabil was available and came on late.
Brian Cipenga remained away as DR Congo players prolonged World Cup qualification celebrations in their country, retained by their federation. That has not pleased affected clubs, including Castellón. He is expected to rejoin training shortly.
The club president watched from the directors’ box. Earlier he was seen with his dog Oscar on the bench, then later on the pitch enjoying the team’s celebrations with supporters.
There were 50 Granada fans in the away end. Former Villarreal player Jorge Pascual scored from the spot, then made a gesture towards the stands that displeased coach Pacheta. Trigueros also featured.
Pablo Hernández’s side now visit Mirandés, who won in Zaragoza and are fighting for survival, on Sunday 12 April at 18.30. Castellón then return to SkyFi Castalia to face Burgos, one of the division’s most solid and awkward opponents, on Saturday 18 April at 18.30.
