Inter in talks to sign Spurs captain Romero | OneFootball

Italian side Internazionale are in talks to sign Argentina international defender Cristián Romero.

The Tottenham Hotspur captain has always been likely to leave the club this summer after a difficult 2025/26 season in North London.

Now following the World Cup, the 28-year-old's future could be decided with Inter sporting director Piero Ausilo confirming the club's desire to sign Romero to Sky Italy: "It’s definitely a deal we are trying to sign with the player and the club. These things take some time but there’s definitely interest. Let’s see."

Romero first joined Spurs on an initial loan from Atalanta for the 2021/22 season before that deal was made permanent. In total, the Argentinian has made 156 appearances for the club in all competition as well as scoring 13 goals from defence with six of those coming last season.
