Inter Miami have signed 20-year-old left-back Cesar Abadia as a Homegrown Player for the first team.

According to Inter Miami, the deal runs to the end of the 2026 MLS season, with options through June 2027 and for the 2027-28 and 2028-29 seasons. He becomes the 12th Academy graduate to step up to the senior side.

Abadia recently made his MLS debut while on a short-term loan from Inter Miami II. He came on as a second-half substitute in the away draw at Charlotte FC on 14 March.

Nicknamed Cheche, he made his professional bow in March 2023, starting Inter Miami II's 2023 MLS NEXT Pro opener against Chicago Fire II. Since then he has played 61 times, scoring two goals and adding one assist for Inter Miami II.

He joined the Inter Miami Academy in 2019 with the U-14s. His first year with the U-17s included a run to the 2022 Generation adidas Cup semi-finals and involvement at the MLS NEXT Cup U-17 tournament, and he has previously been called up by the United States U-17 Men's National Team.

Abadia said he was very happy, called the move a childhood dream, and added that he wants to learn, integrate with the team, start playing and improve every day.

He follows Alexander Shaw, Daniel Pinter, Israel Boatwright, Tyler Hall, Santiago Morales, David Ruiz, Benjamin Cremaschi, Noah Allen, Ian Fray, Edison Azcona and Felipe Valencia in completing the pathway from the club's Academy to the first team.
