Inter Milan still have big plans for midfielder Kristjan Asllani, and have even rejected some big money offers for the Albanian.
This according to Italian outlet FCInterNews. They report that the Nerazzurri turned down a bid worth €25 million during the summer.
Asllani is now midway through his third season as an Inter player.
The Nerazzurri signed Asllani from Empoli in the summer of 2022.
There was never any doubt about Inter’s plan for Asllani. They see the Albanian as a potential future starter in the holding midfield role.
Initially, Asllani was brought in to be the backup for Marcelo Brozovic.
And after the Croat’s sale in 2023, it has been Hakan Calhanoglu who Asllani has been the understudy to.
The presence of a player like Calhanoglu certainly has positive aspects for Asllani.
The 22-year-old has had the chance to learn a lot from Calhanoglu in training.
However, the Turkish international has really cemented himself as a key player in Inter’s starting eleven.
Therefore, Asllani has found opportunities to play fairly hard to come by.
As such, there have been constant rumours that Asllani could go elsewhere in search of more playing time.
But according to FCIN, Inter are not in any hurry to sell Asllani.
The Nerazzurri continue to see the Albanian as a part of their future squad plans.
So much so, reports FCIN, that Inter firmly rejected an offer of around €25 million for Asllani over the summer.
It is possible that next summer could be decisive for Asllani. If his playing time remains what it is over the rest of this season, Inter could decide to cash in.
But for now, the Nerazzurri’s plan is to keep Asllani.
