Legendary former Nerazzurri captain Beppe Bergomi feels that Simone Inzaghi has never hidden from his ambitions as Inter Milan coach.
Bergomi gave his thoughts on Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews. He had words of praise for the current Inter coach.
Inter Milan are currently active on three fronts. Technically four, considering they play in the Club World Cup at the end of the season.
But right now, it is in Italian and European competition that Inter are focusing their efforts.
Just in the last couple weeks, Inter have played matches in three different competitions.
The Nerazzurri booked their place in the Coppa Italia semifinals with a win over Lazio last month. And in the Champions League, Inter have a chance to get to the quarterfinals with tomorrow’s second leg against Feyenoord.
Meanwhile, in Serie A Inter continue to fight to retain last season’s title.
The Nerazzurri have certainly had some setbacks in this respect. They have struggled in the biggest matches over the last few weeks.
But results against Genoa and Monza have kept Inter at the top of the table nevertheless.
All of this has led to talk of a potential European Treble.
And Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi has hardly made any effort to downplay these sorts of ideas.

Former Inter captain Beppe Bergomi noted that the Nerazzurri coach “said three trophies with a smile.”
“But Inzaghi has been communicating well for two years. And he’s never hidden, not even last season.”
“This season he said that they’re still on course for all their goals,” noted Bergomi.
“I don’t know if Inter will win anything,” he continued.
“But seeing them where they are in March, even when they’re struggling…”
As far as the possibility of a Treble like the 2009-10 season, Bergomi commented that “making comparisons between two seasons is always difficult.”
“But in the end they continue to be right there, they’re still doing well.”
