Inter Milan could adjust their midfield setup in the January transfer window, with Morten Frendrup emerging as a concrete target to bring more balance to Cristian Chivu’s squad.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Genoa midfielder has impressed Inter’s management with his energy this season.

He currently averages five ball recoveries per match and topped Serie A last season for tackles won (61), dribbles halted (34), and interceptions (47, joint with Marten de Roon).

Should the Dane arrive, Andy Diouf looks the most likely to make way.

Indeed, a loan move in January viewed as the ideal opportunity for him to gain regular minutes.

Gazzetta also notes that Piotr Zielinski could leave if a suitable offer arrives due to his age and salary demands.

Meanwhile Davide Frattesi, currently limited to a backup role behind Barella, might also consider his future to regain continuity ahead of next year’s World Cup.
