Former Leeds United loanee Djed Spence has emerged as a potential option for the 2025/26 Serie A champions, with Gianluca Di Marzio reporting that Inter Milan are interested after a €30million (£25.6m) move for Union Saint-Gilloise’s Anan Khalaili collapsed because of a failed medical.
The Athletic reported last week that Everton are also keen as they look to replace Seamus Coleman, who left when his contract expired this summer.
Spence’s time at Elland Road under 49ers Enterprises did not take off. Tottenham Hotspur loaned him to Leeds in summer 2023 but he made just seven appearances, and a break clause was triggered once January opened. A subsequent six-month switch to Bologna brought little improvement.
Back at Spurs, his career has since revived. The 25-year-old has played 55 Premier League matches, starting 42, and earned an England call-up for this summer’s World Cup. Across the Atlantic he has often come on to close out wins, including against Mexico and Norway.
Inter are prioritising a new wing-back and, given Spence’s recent form, any deal is expected to be costly. A move could develop in the coming weeks.
Leeds manager Daniel Farke later said ending the loan was the right call, stressed he would not criticise Spence and praised his potential, noting a major contribution in the win over Ipswich.
